2024 ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit

Evan Ehlers is the 28-year-old founder of Sharing Excess, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that rescues and distributes surplus food nationally from grocers, retailers, and wholesalers to communities experiencing food insecurity. To date, the organization has gleaning operations in two major terminal produce markets and has partnered with thousands of food businesses and hunger-relief nonprofits to rescue and distribute 50+million meals to more than 3 million individuals.
